About Therapy
What to Expect
Deciding to enter therapy can be difficult and the first step can be the hardest one to take. There is no great mystery to therapy, often the simple human connection that is made when one person pays close attention to another is the spark that can begin the therapeutic journey.
I am an integrative therapist which simply means that I can draw from many counselling models to adapt how I can work with you to meet your individual needs.
I am very interested in your story, in what has brought you to therapy and in how I can help you to step fully into your life and live it as you choose. You are in control of this process and I work from the understanding that this is a true collaboration - we will work together to achieve the outcomes you decide upon.
How Long Will it Take?
This depends on what you would like to achieve. Sometimes, concerns can be related to events or changes that might come out of the blue and need a few sessions to address. At other times, issues arise from more deeply held beliefs about self and how we are in the world. These may take longer to address but ultimately, it is you who decides how long to be in therapy.
